Each year a committee is formed to recommend a person that has a history of community service and carries out the motto "service beyond self."  They strive to designate a Paul Harris Fellow as a tribute to a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives of the Rotary Foundation.

In becoming a Paul Harris Fellow, the recipient joins a remarkable company of persons throughout the world who have been recognized for their devotion to the ideal of good will, peace, and understanding.  In fact, the world of peace and good has come a lot closer to being a reality because of the labors of these persons.

Our previous recipients of the Community Service Award include Jim DeVito and J.D. Erwin (2001), Katherine Nance (2002), Richard Hudson (2003), Martha Milburn (2004), Carl Beard (2005), L.E. (Gene) Durand (2006),Glenna Ragan (2007), and Jerry Jackson (2008).
