Dan Daugherty, the Communications Director for ENTERGY, provided an intersting program about the impact of the January ice storm. Scott Miller with Robert Zeiller of Chesapeake Energy.  Robert advised we are sitting on a fortune in natural gas right here in Harrison, and we'll all be gazillionaires.   Yeah.  Don't you wish? FedEx VP Dennis Beal provided information on going green and environmental sustainability. Michael Lindsey, author of The Big Hat Law, was our guest speaker on February 12th. Emmy Award winning documentary writer and producer Larry Foley with Rick Milburn.  Foley is Professor of Journalism at the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas.
Heating & Cooling expert Gerald Pinckard was the guest speaker at the meeting on 01/22/09.   Rumor has it that he and Lyn Allen are Dr. Olson shows Rev. Dr. Doyle his new Game Boy. Pastor Paul Tyer of Fellowship Bible Church gave the annual Thanksgiving Address at our November 20th meeting Debbie Barry, Jerry Pledger, and Dr. David Artman treated the club to some first class bluegrass music at our November 13th meeting
Joni Ramsey with Monique Wilson of Vista Health Services.   Joni is standing in a hole. Gene Conrad, The Branson Airport Deputy Director, provided information about the grand opening and services that will be available. Barrister Jim Gresham reprises his role as Virginia Governor Richard Henry Lee while presiding over the Candidate's Forum at our October 23rd meeting. District 6110 District Governor Ron Petersen and wife, Louise, visited our club on October 16th. Dist. Gov. Petersen inducts our newest member, Missy Toliver.

Dr. Jeff Olson gave the club a photo tour of the new L.E. Terry Cook with Jack Moyer from the Historic 1929 Hotel Seville Kelley Linck, the Executive Director of the Ozark Mountain Region Tourism Association was our guest speaker on 08/14/08. Rotarian Terry Cook of the Harrison Convention and Visitor's Bureau with Joe David Rice, State Tourism Director Woody Taylor from NASA with father-in-law Bill Reinders from mars or jupiter.
Bryan Miller, the Vista worker assigned to the Lyric Theater brought several cast members from the Musical, GODSPEL to perform at our meeting. Evelyn Mills and Settie Johnson from the Alzheimer's Memory Walk were our guest speakers 7/10/08 U.S. Army Major Vixen James was the guest speaker at our July 3rd Meeting Bwana Bill Schwarz shares his Kenya Safara pictures with the club Scott Miller with Steven Davis from the Arkansas Naturals Baseball organization.
Amber Perry with the Enviromental Protection Agency addressed the club meeting on May 29th, 2008 Zahra Mobarak of the Social Security Administration State Representative Kathy Webb gave the Club information about the Governor's Global Warming Commission at the May 8th Meeting Chris Dr. David Ware, the Historian of the Arkansas State Capital was the guest speaker on St. Valentine's Day.
Beekeeper Jon Rathke told the club all about honey production and beekeeping at our February 7th meeting. Travel consultant Linda Allen addressed the Club on January 24th. Springfield Cardinals Senior Acct Exec Dan Reiter Cottonwood Fire Chief Tommy Creamer addressed the club on January 8th Dr. Terri Coats with Rachael Prevatte, the Executive Director of the Ozark Arts Council

Donna Braymer, the News & Religion Editor for the Harrison Daily Times is also a published author of Children's Books.  Rotarian Pam Chrisite from the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce spoke to the club about the Five Trends in Economic Development at the meeting 8/9/07 Rotarian Layne Wheeler and Carolyn Cline from the Community Task Force on Race Relations Jay welcomes Ron Proctor from the Mountain Home Rotary Club District Governor Dr. C. Ellis Potter and wife Jane were on hand at our July 19th meeting.  Dr. Potter presided over a new member induction, along with the installation of officers for the 2007-08 term.
Bill Lord, the Program Director of the Northwest Arkansas Edconomic Development District addressed the Club on July 12th Harrison Postmaster John Dewitt updates the Club on the postal service. Elaine Zimmerman, the community health worker with the Harrison School District, gave us details on the program to combat obesity in children. Jay Lawrence introduces guest speaker, Boone County Judge Mike Moore Laverne Grayson introduced Harrison Mayor, Pat Moles as the guest speaker for the June 7th meeting.

Mr. Del Holloway, the Director of United Blood Services, was our guest speaker on April 12th. John Phillips with Harrison Park & Recreation Department told of the many activities coordinated by his dept.  Rebecca Crow told about Tour de Hills Bicycle Marathon. Rotarian Dr. Teri Coats.  Dr. Coats gave a slide presentation detailing the recent Chiropractic Mission trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico.  This is the fifth year our Rotary Club has sponsored this important clinic.  Rose Sparrow and her daughter Erica.  Rose is with the Arkansas Workforce Center in Siloam Springs.  She told of her current job to help find employment for hurricane survivors who have been relocated to our state.  Mr. Jerry Smith from the ASU Delta Center.   Smith is a Rotarian, and the assistant district governor in the Jonesboro District  6150.  He gave the Club a review of the efforts currently underway to re-certify Harrison for recognition as an Arkansas Community of Excellence.
Barbara Harvel from the Arkansas Institute for Performance Excellence.   Harvel gave the club information about the Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award, and how Arkansas Companies can participate in the program.  Harvel is the Executive Director of the Institute here in Arkansas.  Holly Gillis spoke about the programs and services from the Community Health Resource Center. Jim Johnson gave a report to the Club about the Rotary International Foundation. Monies raised are used in a worldwide effort to stop Polio, to provide short-term humanitarian service projects, disaster recovery, Rotary World Peace Fellowships, and many other worthwhile endeavors. Shelly McCall from the Region 2 Prevention Resource Center.  Shelly introduced her associates Nina Acuff a Vista volunteer, and Holly Teague who is in charge of Alcohol and Drug Abuse prevention. 4-Way Test Speech Contestants:  Back Row (l to r) :  Anthony Jimeniz, Lane Collins, Tiffany Cross. Dr. Claudia Beverly, the Director of the Arkansas Aging Initiative.   Dr. Beverly spoke about the issues impacting the health status of aging Arkansans.  She introduced Dr. Fred Taylor who is currently consulting with the Arkansas Aging Initiative.  Alaska State Senator and Senate Minority Leader Johnny Ellis, Jr., the guest of Norma Cutler Margaret Reger with Legal Aid was the '06 recipient of the Legacy Award from the AR Bar Assn.  She has been involved in providing services to clients from five counties for the past 20 years.  Legal Aid is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal assistance to low income Arkansans. Heather Hartlerode of Rotaract. Tim McFarland of Arkansas Venture Conference.  He enlisted the support of Will Hurst of Konaware, and Bob Dodson with Lynndale Systems to explain how this program will benefit the economic development in our state.
